Light Auto Mechanics

This course is designed to teach the field of automotive mechanics.  The student will be immersed in the function of all systems required to make an automobile operate properly, how to diagnose those systems and to repair them in case of malfunction.

Shop Safety Procedures

Learn safety procedures regarding the workplace and fellow coworkers as well as means of protecting yourself as well as others

 

Engines

Learn the functions of certain specific engine parts, types of engines involved and applicable benchmarks regarding the overall performance of an engine.

 

Electrical Systems

Learn the electrical aspects of engine function, why electricity is needed, diagnostic measure tools to measure current and in the internal wiring in the engine.

 

Electronic Systems

Learn about the electronic functions in the automobile, the different systems used to regulate fuel flow, sensors and engine control, and the types of instrumentation.

 

Fuel Injection

Learn the functions of fuel injection systems including injectors, gauges, and fuel flow to an engine.

 

Computer Diagnostic

Learn the to use the tools necessary to diagnose an engine via a scanner, reading of vehicle error codes, proper elimination of engine codes, the check engine light.

Braking

Learn the mechanical workings of the brake system, disc brakes, brake fluids and troubleshooting.

 

ASE Certification

Acquire ASE Certification in the area of brakes.  The student will be prepared by exploring in great detail the area of automotive brakes
